Ayuli is regarded as Nigeria’s top Infrastructure and PPP lawyer and was awarded “Best Lawyer, Nigeria” at the 2013 World Finance Awards. Chambers Global Guide and IFLR1000 reported respectively that clients say: “Ayuli Jemide has a vibrant and creative mind’’ and his expertise is remarkable.’’
With over two decades of experience, Ayuli has advised on various notable transactions in Nigeria including: advising UPDC Plc on its 30 billion naira Real Estate Investment Trust, which introduced a novel mode of transferring title in real estate and achieved a cost savings of about 1.2 billion naira; advising on the Lagos State Blue Line Railway; $80 million investment into Beloxxi Industry Limited, Heineken BV’s purchase of five breweries in Nigeria; 2nd Niger Bridge Design Build Operate & Transfer; Warri Industrial Park Project; and consultancy to the World Bank on a Nigeria PPP Project.
Ayuli is on the adjunct faculty at the Lagos Business School’s Centre for Infrastructure, Policy, Regulation and Advancement (CIPRA), which is devoted to research, training and advocacy in infrastructure development. He teaches topics related to procurement, PPP negotiations and project finance.
Ayuli earned a Bachelor of law degree from the University of Benin, Nigeria in 1987, a Master’s of law from Northwestern University in 2007, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from Instituto de Empresa, Madrid, Spain in 2007. He is certified as a Public Private Partnership Specialist by the Institute for Public Private Partnerships, Washington DC, USA.
