Vergnet’s solutions have been selected in several countries for medium and large-scale projects;
– In Ethiopia, Vergnet constructed 120 MW Ashegoda Wind Farm which the delivers electricity to over 3 million people. Vergnet supports the Utility EEP in the operation and maintenance of this plant.
– In Chad, Vergnet is implementing the first of its kind autonomous Wind-storage Hybrid Plant in the village of Amdjarass which when completed will combine reliable power in an intelligent way to power over 500 homes 100% from renewables.
– In Mauritania, Vergnet is completing the construction of the 6.3MW PV-Hybrid Plant in the city of Kiffa which will provide reliable power to the region.
Profile of Frédéric CHEVE, Country Director, VERGNET Nigeria
Turnkey projects for the environment in Africa have always been the main concern of Frederic’s career. He began his career in 2003 with the AAF Group, providing solutions for air filtration in power plants. In 2007, he resumed a new role in Vergnet Group and was instrumental to the development of several wind farms across Africa, including the 10 MW Katsina wind farm located in Northern Nigeria. He later worked at DAIKIN Group where he specialized in dust control systems for pollution control in steel, fertilizers and cement industries.
Fred is today the Country Director for Vergnet Nigeria and Vergnet Ethiopia where he leads the teams in these countries to develop and implement Vergnet’s Wind, Solar and Hybrid projects, as well as operation and maintenance activities.
He will be one of the Panelists on the session of Energy/Power-(Special Focus on Renewable Energy and Rural Electrification)
